Hey Guys & Gals,

This might be a bush league question, but does Scrap Yard ever come out with any pocket/folding knives ?

Do Dan or Renee give hints as to the next knife to be released ? If can you share that info with the newbie ?

Since the 2-knives I just bought from Scrap & Busse are not for me I am in the market for a nice folding/pocket knife, an all around camp knife that I can use to skin critters with, a chopping knife I can use to clean brush off of my property and this is probably a stretch to ask for this but a filet knife. I usually do a couple fly in trips to fish in Canada and could sure use a filet knife that holds an edge for a long time.

As to date, only Swamp Rat has ever released a folder. But keep on asking for it; who knows, maybe one day Dan will relent and design one!

As for the fillet knife, start searching the secondary markets for a BDLE, aka the Bird Dog that Dan released last year. I can personally testify to how good a knife it is for filleting fish and cleaning fowl!

Swamp Rat made a folder.. It looks really nice! You can find them sometimes on the bladeforums exchange.. Busse prototyped a folder, but nothing has come of it yet.. Scrap Yard has not made one yet, but i hope it happens..

geez you guys are fast with the replies - THANKS ! Now the only issue is finding the knives you recommend. How do I go about doing that ? Does Scrap Yard circle back around and re-release previous released knives ? (does that even make sense ?).

Well that and the other issue of paying for them - hehe

Bladeforums Dot Com is your best bet at getting a Busse-kin knife. There are MANY in the exchange. You just need to create an account (which is free) and go to the Busse knife exchange. Good luck

I just saw a picture of the Bird Dog. I have to find one of those ! Great recommendations on the knives everyone thanks again.

Dan & Renee - if you ever feel the urge to make a mid-sized folding/pocket knife count me in !

Yes they do, but not all and we never know what or when. The S6 and Dogfather have been re-released many times, they are flagships here

Welcome to the Yard!
