Welcome to the Yard, kevlar. I like the Corudura sheath for the DF just fine. It carries well and is quite practical. But when the LE came out, I wanted something a little nicer for it. Rainwalker made this one for me.

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

I ordered the SY Nylon one for the DDF. I have the smaller version which fits the S6 and the YH just fine. It has some kind of insert, kydex or plastic. It also has a handy pocket in the front where I carry a serrated Spydie folder. It could also fit a stone, ferro rod, matches, money, etc. Its a great sheath for the price.

Also if someone wants to let me use their Desert DF for 1 month I will give them a free Exposed Spine sheath for the privilege.

I'm trying to decide on something also for my (coming soon) Desert DF.

LOVE the looks of that beauty HD got from Rainmaker - very nice features and detail! Something like that w/out the tooling and oil up good for outdoor use would be nice.

If I'm going to wear it I don't like them riding up high so prefer the low rider, dangler, drop down styles with leg tie-down capability. I do like the leather Randall/Johnson model C style sheaths.

Not a huge fan of Corudura or nylon type sheaths so far. Have on for my Rat-7 and it is flimsy for drawing / reholstering. However it is light weight which is great for hiking. Something to consider if trekking with a big fatty. Maybe the SY version is better.

If strapping it to a pack, which I sometimes do with a small (12") machete, then open top Kydex I find works well. What do you guys think of the stock DF kydex offered here?

Thanks Yard, got an offer, so sheaths should be coming in a week or two.

You could also just make your own...

Not nearly as pretty as David's sheaths, but it was fun to make.
