I would like a 14" recurve bolo blade with a giant mudder handle. I would prefer a light 3/16" blade with a saber grind or else a 1/4" thick with a full flat grind. For a large beater like that, I don't care if it is SR77 or SR101 steel. Either is fine.

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

A Scrap Yard Folder. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowdown.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowdown.gif" alt="" />

A Scrap Yard "Dog Tag",which is a necker. The three inch blade should have open grips like the "Scotch Dispenser".
Black crinkle coated,full grind. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

SR-101 would be super for the Dog Tag as it sharpens to such a keen edge.
And of course a Scrap Yard Kydex sheath made available. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

But the Folder ..... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Peace.

Some people just never learn.

A Survival/Do it All Knife:

Description:

1.) Knife should be 5 to 7 inches in length (no blade coating since it could be used for food preparation)
2.) Thick enough for general camp chores but able to skin game & fish
3.) I'd suggest a drop point with a blade 1 to 1 1/4 inches in width with a gut hook integrated into the rounded choil
4.) The first 2 inches on the spine/back of the blade should have an integrated saw for sawing (duh) or scaling fish
5.) The butt of the handle should be a chuck of steel which could be used for nailing/pounding (a thick Res C handle with a slab of steel at the end/butt cap)
6.) It wound not matter to me which company made this knife (Busse, Swamp Rat or Scrap Yard)

Is that too much to ask for ? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

These knives will be coming up for sale. You can just suggest whatever knife you want made from any of the Busse groups. We want to hear all suggestions. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

Another idea which probably goes against the grain completely BUT. The knives I use most are my kitchen knives.

How about a general purpose kitchen /utility knife ? I don't even know where to begin to describe it, but I know it would get allot of use. I'd guess you would have to use 154cm steel or some stainless variant.

What I had sent to Renee was based on my BF idea for a 7.5 inch spear or clip point chopping/sawing/survival (CSS) knife with top sawteeth and screw-off micarta scales to house items in a skeletonized compartment tang.

For a SY version using hidden tang/Res-C then the SOD is where I'd start. Convex grind it, add good/usable sawteeth on top and slightly shorten the clip length. Not the useless sawteeth like on Randalls, but more like the Bill Sanders S-3 type that can really saw. Would eliminate the need to take a pocket saw along on many occasions.

Edit: Oh yah... no choil. All usable blade right up to the guard baby!

I'd like to see Scrap Yard versions of:

The Cold Steel Taipan, SpyderCo Delica, BCS SFNO, and Becker's BK9.

Oh, and minimize the choil - I double dog dare ya.

Dirty, wet, and unprotected. \m/

Jerry posted the contest below and I have talked to a few of "my girls" at the Busse shop and they are thinking about doing a Scrap Yard Knife for the contest. If you have any ideas let me know so that I can pass them on! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

We divided our production team into 4 different teams. These teams will each have 2 leaders. They will be making a design of their choosing and these designs will be posted as a special offer. The team that has the biggest hit will win a valuable prize!!!! If a group uses your suggestion, you will receive a free knife from that offer!!!!! These can be modified versions of past designs or entirely new ideas!!!! The first one to suggest the idea that inspires the team's design will be the winner. . . . There are 4 teams and therefore, 4 chances at winning. If a team uses a design that has not been suggested, then NO prize will be awarded. Each team will decide whose post inspired them the most and will pick their own design winner.

All 4 lines of Busse Kin Blades Are Qualified for this competition.
Here are the 4 lines . . . .

Busse Combat
Busse Custom Shop
Swamp Rat
Scrap Yard

NO DRAWINGS or PhotoShop Pics!!!! . . . They will be deleted!!!!. . . Written descriptions only!!!!!

They're gonna need your help, so tell 'em what you want and encourage them to bring it!!!!

Good luck to all who participate. . . .

Jerry

Here are the Team Names and their respective leaders. . . .

Super Amy & Little Boy Wonder. . . . Amy-0 and Beef

Kong & The Tooga Tot . . . . Lora and Josh

Captain Cabo & The Hill Stick Kid . . . . Garth and Ron

Under The Radar . . . . Kendra and Bubble (No one over 5' tall allowed!)

Come on Dogs. I know you have lots of ideas and this is your chance to get a design into production and have a lot of fun doing it. If needed, look up some of your old posting's. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

Newer Dog's...DON'T be shy, jump in with anything. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

It would be so cool to have a team pick up your idea for ScrapYard and give those Hogs and Rats a run for their money...not that I am competitive or anything <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

Renee; when do the ideas need to be in by? I am sure these Dogs will back you and the ladies. Thanks for posting.

Dan
