I recommend getting one of those 150 lb pull magnets from Harbor Freight and dragging it around. That's what I did to find my M6 when I lost it.

Good luck finding it, I once lost a boker folder on an elk hunting trip. I had the time so I hiked back 3 or so miles before i found it. I still have that knife somewhere.

You will find it- just go back- be cool- think it over and retrace <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />. No biggie.The more you do stuff like this- the stronger it will make you. Seriously, I've started attaching reflective paracord or kelty triptease to every piece of gear I have. Zipper pulls, stakes, knives, keys... you name it, I've wrapped it in something reflective at some point.

I'm with MustardMan. You can do a lot to make life easier for yourself later. High viz orange paracord fobs and reflective tape will get you far. Checking you have the most essential items regularly and retrace your steps if you don't

Unfortunately you already lost this. As everyone else suggested, get out there and look for it. Would it have been lost on your folks property? If so, maybe not a lot of people get out there.

How about using a metal detector?

Do you have a dog? Spend a couple of hours training it to sniff out Res-C and bring it <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

That does suck. Get your thoughts together and go back out there. My bet is the second time through you will learn even more. What you should have done or not done the first time through etc...

Thanks for the advice and encouragement guys. I figured the Yard would know how I'm feeling. I didn't mind all the falling and the crap but to loose a Srcapper 5 sucks big time. I would go through that stuff 5 times over to find my S5!

I did learn alot though. Preperation and patience would have helped me keep my S5. I thought to clip it to my pack but just stuck it in there. I think I am going to snag that magnet and go back in Sunday morning. I just don't have a good idea where I came through to hit the fence. I guess walking to the fence and then walking back a few time will help me figure out where I most likely traveled. Ughhh, I don't want to have to walk that fence again! A machete will go with me the next time. Wish I could get a Horn Dog special on it before I get back in there. Those where some reall tough vines in there.
