Hi Fellow Dogs,
Being based the other side of "The Pond" I don't really get a chance to buy from Blade Forums : ( I 've seen a M9 advertised my side for $400 . What's the Yards opinion. Is the M9 worth that?????
Cheers JerseyBob

The M9LE is an awesome knife, but $400 sounds pretty steep. I guess, when you figure in shipping costs and import tariffs and everything else, stuff is gonna cost a lot more over there anyway, but a $150 markup from original store price sounds pretty harsh.

To me, for $400 you're getting into the price range of a combat grade NMSFNO, and while I love the M9LE, if I'm spending that much money, I'd upgrade to INFI.

Cheers MustardMan,I hear you. It's on a British blade exchange (much like BF) & the knife is in Italy. As I say the delivered price is $400. I already own a Camp Tramp in SR101 & with 2 S5 LE's coming my credit card would be happy if i passed on this M9. Unless it was a "Grail knife" of the Swamp?

I don't have enough swamp knives to say whether it's a grail knife, but I will say that it's a really cool big bowie. It's design is very different from a typical chopper - that is, it's balanced more towards the handle, so it is light and fast in the hand. The differential temper on the LE blade is definitely beautiful, and it's got a pretty comfortable handle, so it's one of my favorite Bussekin blades, but I still doubt I would spend that much money on it. I also refuse to pay typical US second hand rates for a Camp Tramp or Battle Rat, though....

Despite the more neutral balance, the M9LE fared pretty well in a chopoff I held, and it was very dominant at brush clearing, where the neutral balance paid off in quicker swings and less fatigue. If you've got another light and fast big bowie, I would say the M9LE is not worth that kind of money, but if you have nothing in that category, it might be worth a shot.

Thanks for the info! I'm thinking that's a little too similar to my Camp Tramp so I may just pass it by.
I'll be getting that Regulator though! : ) Thats way to sweet to miss!

The M9LE is a heck of a bowie. Not being in Europe, I don't know what a fair price is over there. $400 sounds a little high though. $300 would be more like it.

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

Cheers Vic, was just reading your M9LE versus DFLE chop off thread. Am tempted, so tempted! I'll see if the seller will trim (or chop off!) his price a little. I feel the Regulator bowie will be a beaut' but the M9 might just feel a little lighter in the hand.

After using m M9 this past weekend I can say it's a really nice blade to have and feels a lot faster and lighter than it's size. I bought a second one for $275 with a sheath just a few weeks ago. As much as I like the M9 I wouldn't pay $400 for one at this time. Maybe you should try WTB on BF and see if somebody would be willing to ship to you.

Cheers Lazi, sadly most sellers on BF will only ship to CONUS but I have a friend in Chicago. Maybe she would accept a knife & ship it on?
Thanks for the replies & advice Dawgs! ; )

I wonder if there is a fedex or ups store you can contact that will receive and ship for you. I'm pretty sure that you can have items shipped to the ups store here and pick them. I don't see why you couldn't have them shipped to a store location and then shipped to you from the store. This is all speculation but it shouldn't hurt to ask. Having a friend willing to ship to you is maybe your best bet though.

Hope something works out for you...
