No offense to Jerry but that summary is marketing hype, plain and simple. There have even been knives whose pictures were posted in bladeforums, where the edge chipped or tore. It's not that tough to do, really - any situation where the edge binds in a material and the blade torques, such as having lots of momentum from a chopping swing, can shear out a bit of fine edge.
The chip I saw had absolutely nothing to do with the zilla itself, as far as I can tell - it's just one of those one in a thousand chance happenings. Chop enough, instead of putting your blades in a safe, and you'll see it too - most won't even bother to mention it, as it's usually very minor damage, and easily sharpened out. And again, anyone who is using knives regularly is sharpening them regularly too.
I only mention this very minor damage here to point out that, while a very fine steel, INFI isn't magical, an no amount if very strong marketig statements can make it stop obeying the laws of physics.

The chip was small enough that, with my meager photography skills, you can't tell whether it's a chip or a roll. I put it under a gigantic magnifying glass at work, though, and it's definitely missing material. The pictures won't really show you much from that front.
They will show lots of fun with other killa zilla uses though <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

Ha, I haven't taken photos of the chips and damage to the Busse blades, for 1 out of respect to the company,, but it almost sounds like you wouldn't be believed MM unless you show a photo. and yes your right, its not magical, and no one that does safe keeping or minor chopping and cutting that a simple Chinese blade can do will ever know.
I guess I can take out one and beat the heck out of it again and see what we come up with, take pics and wait for an OK to show

fastcamo : Just curious, but why would you need "an OK to show"?

I don't know the details, but I remember a controversy where a member did show and was quickly told and it looked ugly

That sounds more than a little iffy to me. How are users supposed to tell marketing hype from reality if that kind of censorship is used?
Is this enforced on this forum as well?

Umm I'm really not sure, but there is a member here, that was the center of the event, and I'd rather stay and play without issues, basically though no one is saying that they are not tough or strong, in fact they very much are, the Kin has done an above superb job with the heat treatment of the steels they have chose, that rivals most company's, however if one believes they have a magical steel, they need to up the tests for self identification.

I would like to hear the back story on someone getting in trouble for showing blade damage. Was it a no-show knife like the Zilla or Regulator?

I would like to add though, that this new S5LE in my opinion, is and probably well be one of the best blades, as far as material things go, the mudder grip, res c for feel, INFI steel in a medium blade that will provide corrosion resistance, edge holding and superb toughness, thinner stock for slicing, an attractive finish, pretty well balanced and great design, INFI in my opinion would be the perfect steel for this knife

I haven't been around for long, but I don't recall ever seeing someone get in trouble here or on the Busse forums for showing damage to a knife. In fact, I've seen Jerry CELEBRATE when folks damaged their knives by doing dumb stuff like hammering one into a concrete block then kicking until it broke.
Very early in my posting around here, I majorly damaged the edge of a swamp rat knife batoning it through a log, and I posted lots of pictures - folks expressed surprise at the amount of damage, and then relief when I figured out that the damage was caused by trying to baton through a hardened masonry nail that was embedded deeply into the tree. Not once did I feel like someone was mad at me for pointing out that the edge was messed up, or even get a hint that folks thought I jumped the gun by posting the damage before I figured out the source.
