Yeah the m9cg was a big surprise to me. I wonder if they will do a production run soon. I don't think I'd go for it - too close to the m9le, and I've got the DDF for a saber ground chopper, with the bonus of res-c handles.

Still, the m9cg is a fine looking blade, and for someone without any SR-101 in that size, it's a no brainer. I wonder if it's differentially tempered. I would assume it is.

Well I certainly have no need for any of them. But if the price is right, I could go for a CG. The recent Busse Combats have just gotten out of the price range of this old man. $400 for a 4" knife? Gimme a break.

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

Nice pics! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

I would have loved to have gotten ahold of that PBS!.. and maybe a M9CG too! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> They could even put regular Micarta handles on the M9 and it'd be just fine with me. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

The big news to me is the M9CG. A heavier saber ground M9 should make one heck of a chopper.

+1

Fair arguement. I have the M9LE, DFLE, Battle Rat, NMSFNO, NMFBM, FSH, Chopweiler, Camp Tramp, Yard Guard, etc. so I am personally pretty well covered for choppers. But, those who don't have the M9LE....

I would assume the M9CG is differentially tempered. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

I will have to wait and see on the M9CG. Right now I would have to pass. So, I hope I don't have to decide soon. But, I don't "need" it.

If they beef the tip up a bit and offer micarta (I would bet micarta is an option on CG), then "IF" finances are available, I might have to consider.
The saber grind might offer more power, but the full height grind sure feels and balances VERY nicely. Tough call.

But, BIG +1 on certain recent Busse pricings. Satin knives are what I "WANT" and Busse satin blades are just WAY too high. I can buy satin from most every other knife maker for WAY less.

Coated CG blades are NOT cheap either and if I have to do SO MUCH work to make them satin, it is hard for me to buy Busse CG's either. So, like you, the knife design has to be VERY special and a good price even for a CG for me to justify the work and time to make a CG into a "nice" and worthy knife. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />

.

JYD #39 I prefer "SATIN" blades!!!

I just checked the moss DF I got. It is full flat and it is thinner to start with. Much lighter knife than my original CGDF.
Someone said the CG saber M9 was also thinner, but I am not sure. I held an M9CG for about an hour but I have never held an M9LE.

Someday I gotta go to East or West..How do you find out where the Busse's setup at gunshows etc? I remember seeing them at Ohio Gun Coll Assoc. meetings 10+ yrs. ago.
