I wonder if he uses a pack mules to get it all to the camp site

Dan

Looks like a Jeep (probably calls it Willy or something ), a QX4 and maybe a Toyota???

My wife drives a QX4.

We put some larger tires on it - which makes it a bit more rugged looking. But, putting a lift on it is apparently a PITA (as opposed to a PETA.... )

Thanks bud,
I really dig the M1, I almost wish I had gotten it instead of the M3, I really don't have any use for the pump over on it. Regardless Benneli's are the way to go, definitely top of the line shot guns.

Yeah, I looked at the M3 a couple of times before settling on the M1.

In theory, the extra assurance and "reliability" of having the pump sounds like a good plan. But, in reality, the pump is a lot more bulky and heavy. And the M1 DOES NOT jamb. I have never jambed it with many hundreds of "fun" rounds.

Very cool guns. Definitely Top Shelf!

For anyone who can't afford the $1,000 + ticket for the Benelli, the Beretta 1201FP actually uses the same recoil-operated semiautomatic action, developed and patented by Benelli along with some other worthy similarites. And I have seen the 1201FB's for around $550 - $650. Maybe not the Benelli, but should be a DANG good gun for the money!

But, it looks like you are camping in public lands. I don't know about Cali, but in Texas, you need to be DANG careful not to get caught with that by a Ranger and have any game around.

we are in national forrest, shooting is completely legal, as for the game, it depends on what it is and if you have a hunting license or not.....
Dan, a pack mule would be nice, this is the main reason I like car camping, too many toys to pack in....

As for the Jeep, it is a 2004 Wrangler

MRpink...I have both the regulator and the S5 and I can assure you that pic was at an angle which was deceiving. The reg is MUCH more blade and handle than the S5.

Yeah, you're right. The new picture really shows the differences.

Nice pics. Looks like a good time.
btw, bats are not rodents (you probably know that), and they eat a lot of bugs (flying makes 'em hungry), so they are useful left alive. OTOH, kill all the rats you want
fwiw, I'm no PETA sympathizer although I may be a PITA for even mentioning the bat thing.

you are probably right about the bats, I am just fairly immune when it comes to feelings toward non domestic animals, it may be a character flaw but I have no issues with shooting wild animals. Wife and kids hate that about me. It is funny the list of "varmits" that are legal to shoot out here (rats are not part of that list) but squirels, beavers, gray foxes, coyotes, racoons, crows..... they are pretty much all fair game

I know where you coming from. My GF sometimes questions my ability to hunt and kill everything.

She got mad because I was going to shoot some feral dogs/cats a few weeks ago. I mean...they're FERAL!!! come on...

Guess I'll have to wait till she's not around.

EDIT TO ADD:

I killed two 4 foot Water Moccasin's this weekend. They are thick around here this year so I figured I needed to hunt them...

Here's a pic of one.

The mosquitos are so bad here with this rainy Summer, I wouldn't dare harm any of my bats. Not because I love them or anything. But anything that eats mosquitos and doesn't bite me is my friend right now.

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

Yep yep HD.... we had a pretty mild wet summer here , and the Mosqs and mice are having a feild day... so i left a couple snakes that were running around....

i even left the spiders in the corner of the shops so they could eat more bugs for me...

i like bats in general ... they eat things that bite me , and for the most part leave me alone.... so i can return the favor.
