I'm thinking of picking up one of the Busse Double Cut HG55's that were sold at Blade West 2009 and wanted some opinions. I've held one of the HG55 military over runs but didn't like the ribbing on the blade. So, who has one and what do you like or dislike about it? Thanks!

To me, it seems that the HG55s don't get much love just because they are not another big chopper. I was looking for an EDC fighter for my deployment and the HG55 fits this need. Yes, the HG55 lacks the "wow" factor, but hey that's not why I wanted it. You can easily pick one up below cost. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I've been thinking of snagging one myself. Price seems good and the blade shape is pretty cool. If you get it for a good price then I say go for it. There's a pic of Horn Dog's with a sweet convex. That would be the way I would go.

Actually, that is Busse's sweet convex. The HG55 LE comes that way.
Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

The HG55 has grown on me. When I imagine the ideal fighting knife the HG55 pretty much fits the bill. I guess it won't be long before I end up with one. Double cut all the way!!

As far as any drawbacks, I would like the thumb grooves to continue all the way through, perhaps just shallower.

It is one of my very favorite knives.
It could be lighter & thinner, but it works naturally in my hands with the straight handle and is very comfortable in various grips.

It is a classic American style Bowie fighter, but thicker and tougher than the others. It can cut and slice, but it is primarily a fighter. ![[Linked Image from i173.photobucket.com]](http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w64/rivershaman/Busse/HG55LE026.jpg)

I have the HG55 similar to Horn Dogs and its a sweet knife. I hated the pics of them, but when I picked it up and felt how balanced it was and how good it felt in the hand I really liked it. Its a great little knife.
