As far as I know the only thing shared between the Busse companies is how to make the knives. I haven't seen any patterns shared between the different companies . . .
Patterns are shared across the companies all the time, Joshua. Here's just the latest example:

Busse Combat Bushwacker Mistress:

Scrap Yard Dog Father LE

No no, those are two very different patterns.
Simillar in function, but one has a thumb ramp, different choils, different handles, different blade shape, different blade length... Actually there isn't a single thing about those two knives that are the same.
The thing that adds cost when making a new pattern is setting up all the machinery to make that pattern. Programing the CNC machines to cut the outline out of steel barstock, shape the handle scales (if you're using G-10 or Micarta) and possibly grind the blade as well. With folders there's a lot more engineering that has to go into it, you have to ensure that many parts fit together perfectly, with fixed blades it should be a much simpler process.

+1 I don't see the resemblance between the BW and the DF either.

How about a thin Grand Dog Father (.1875") and a thick Grand Dog Father (.250")? Or make the LE version in thin and the CG in thick?

I think I'll get at least 2 of whatever comes out next from Dan. Even if I don't like the looks of a knife from a picture I might still like it after handling it some. I can still sell it for the price I get it for if I decided not to keep the blade that's no problem.

JYD #84 This is my rifle, and that is my SHTF Busse knife.

So...what is next? I ask this question every single time I get something from ScrapYard. We probably won't find out for weeks, but it's always good to know before hand.

Lets try it this way...What do you want to see next.

Let me know

Dan

I'd like to see some picked from the suggestions made in the design a knife comp !!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crossfingers.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

How about an SR-7 version of the Busse Combat Khukuri before the Busse one even comes out!

Sorry! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" /> lol

I saw a picture of the BCK over on BladeForums and fell in love with it! I'd take the khukuri over the Bushwacker without hesitation. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowdown.gif" alt="" />
