Jerry has claimed that their main market is military sales, but that doesn't mean I buy that statement at face value. He claims the newer, crappier Bama Clay texture is to reduce reflectivity for military contracts. While I have no doubt his intention in changing the finish was to reduce reflectivity, I find it absolutely laughable to believe that there is some big military order of Bama Clay knives out there somewhere, strapped to a bunch of soldiers' packs. It's just not something that a military contractor would do - buying a bunch of pretty knives and requesting them in this weird sandpaper textured finish.

I think of Jerry's statements very much like I would think of the campfire stories of my crazy uncle - full of hyperbole and imagination, and not to be taken at face value for anything more than a laugh and some fun.
Please feel free to post this in the Busse Combat forum. MM. Knowing Jerry's dedication to the military market as I do, I'm sure you'll receive an interesting response.

PS: With all due respect, folks who haven't been around here very long REALLY need to do their homework before they <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/footinmouth.gif" alt="" /> .

Ya know, I knew I shouldn't have taken you off ignore to see what you had to say...

I'm not saying Jerry isn't dedicated to the military, or that he doesn't do military orders. I'm saying the guy is a storyteller and I wouldn't put it past him to exaggerate stuff - no harm intended or anything, but the guy is a joker. I do not buy for a second that there are a bunch of army guys buying up bama clay knives - I'm sorry if you think that's my foot in mouth or somehow disrespectful of Jerry, but that's the way I see it.

Considering how many times you've gone out of your way to push the buttons of everyone involved with these companies, you've got a lot of nerve to be lecturing me about how I need to do my homework before I put my foot in my mouth.

I'm done with this conversation, as I have no desire to let you bait me into a little conflict, which you seem to thrive on trying to prod people into. Back on ignore you go.

I'm here to talk knives, not play your goofy games.

Alright everyone I'll say it:

I think we are going to see The Regulator in many options along with a smaller knife offered! I think Dan may even have a sweet Package Deal for buying both.

I really think it will have been worth the wait.

All the Dogs are hungry, and I know Dan is gonna feed everyone soon. And if he says it's worth the wait, it will be worth the wait.

I hope so, because I've already chewed off one of my own hands.

...

It was the left one, I'm not an idiot.
