A lot less. I gave the warm saltwater soak test to INFI because it's already been done and there's really no reason to repeat it. But SR101 will resist corrosion if its properly maintained. It just requires a little more attention than INFI, that's all. That's nice to know. Thanks for that.

I'm looking forward to the same type of thing.
I doubt I will do any side by side comparison myself. I do experiments and collect data with rigorous care all day at work - when I come home, the last thing I want to do is more repetitive side by side experiments.
The one exception to that is chopoffs. They serve as good stress relief <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> I would bet after a day at work that chopping would be a great stress management activity <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" /> I get to do it during work <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> Dan

The only tests that I can think of that might show a significant difference in performance are corrosion resistance and some kind of destruction test, neither of which do I desire to do to my Scrapper 5s.
Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

If they are both equally sharp, I would expect no difference that a user would notice. If you want to test edge retention you could get Dexter-Russell to put the knives in their paper slicing test machine that scientifically measures such things. Good luck with that. I already know from experience that SR101 holds an edge about as well as INFI from a practical user perspective.

I have used both for stripping copper wire. The combat grade digs in more with the coating on it. They both hold an edge very well, but the INFI is easier to sharpen. The INFI also seems to get a little sharper and is purdier. The LE is thinner and lighter. If they were not side by side it would be hard to tell. With the price to performance ratio, they are equal,IMO.
