Hi Dawgs,
I know other proud owners of the S5LE have mentioned how impressed they were with the "out of the box factory edge"
My S6 (new, but sadly from the secondary market as I'd not discovered SYK until then) had a rather dull edge but my pair of 5's.....laser sharp!
Is this a new thing with the Yard?

It seems that, in general, Bussekin LE's often have the sharpest edges. This isn't always true, but my S5LE and M9LE both came crazy sharp, and if I could afford the several-hundred-dollar markup for Busse LE's I figure the experience would be similar.

Yep very sharp, but I think #106 is slightly sharper than #107. I wonder if they get less sharp the higher the number? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" />

Plus 1 on the M9LE! The one that KnifeGuy sorted me out with (Kudos to KG <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />)) ) was scary sharp too! The edge on mine was not that great brand new. I fixed that problem though, Its now really REALLY sharp, if not so pretty. I still havent managed to make a knife sharp without scuffing the blade a little bit.

While sharp as heck, I have never received a sharper blade, than my S5CG. My S5CG is freaking crazy.

i just recieved my s5 le #600 and it is very sharp as i would expect from a brand new knife from a reputable company. I hope my Waki and tank buster will be in the same condition.
