How does it chop?

Thanks everyone!

It chops better then I expected. I'll have to do further testing, but it chopped through half a 2x4 as well my SOD. Chopping with the Ratchet is different then chopping with a bigger knife though, there's a wrist flicking action that needs to be done to get a decent chop. I'll do a full review later.

Thanks again everyone. I wasn't 100% happy with the finish because there was still a flat spot above the edge where the belt wasn't really hitting (you can see it pretty clearly in the pictures), so I went back this morning and fixed that up. Next I still need to polish all the spine and make a sheath.

Somewhere in the park of 4 hours, I really took my time to make sure the steel stayed cool.

Nice job on stripping the coating, but its not for me it looks too much like a 5 in 1 painters tool.

It's not the best looking hatchet out there, but it's real functional. Being shorter then the S5 and DM, it chops better and the back can be used as a hammer. It's most likely going in my car pack.
