Nice pics. The Wife and I went rock climbing as part of our Honeymoon in Alaska. It was a ton of fun. The Wife had pristine done up finger nails for the wedding and the before and after pics of these for our rock climbing and repelling are neat to look at. The only problem was I used a still camera with great video ability to shoot her climbing and repelling. Since I have been a professional photographer and am really only proficient in still cameras I forgot that changing the camera from horizontal to vertical, to get more of the rock wall to fit in and for better composition, makes viewing the video a real pain.

I always thought of hammock camping as a summertime thing but you guys are making me rethink that. Looks like a great time was had. It takes a bit of tinkering with gear to make it all work out, but hammocking can definitely be done in cold weather. The coldest I took my setup last season was mid to low 20's, but I'm hoping to get closer to 0 degrees this year. I've talked to some guys who have hammocked in the -20's. Any time I get below freezing in the hammock I'm having a blast. Hoping to get some pics with snow on the tarp this year

Most of the climbing I do recently is bouldering, which is very hard, powerful climbing moves low to the ground without the hindrance of ropes and harnesses. Due to the danger of climbing with nothing more than a foam pad for protection, friends on the ground are usually more concerned with making sure you're safe than taking pictures, so I actually don't have many pictures of climbing.
I actually prefer to take videos when someone is available to hold a camera, but as the videos always include a bunch of other people, I don't post them on the internet without getting those peoples' permission.

Never seen the hammock set-up before. I need to sleep on my side (otherwise my snoring will scare the bears) and I also need to be snuggled with my woman.

Sleeping on your side isn't much of a problem in the hammock...
Snuggling with the woman can potentially be problematic. Some folks are comfortable with two in a large hammock, and some use fancy double-hammocks like the Vertex by Clark Hammocks.
We just do separate hammocks, which gives us a lot of flexibility in how we pitch things and set up our campsite.

Great pics and good thread. I do a lot of the same stuff. My brother does the hammock but I have a ultra-light tent. Looks like fun. I like to camp when it gets about 40-60 degrees. I hike so I don't want to get to hot and sweaty, 50 degrees is just about right because you actually enjoy the fire and sleep better.
Tell us more about the knives. I am getting a Scrapper 5 (as you know) and I am interested in what you thought of it for camping. I plan on using it as my only knife when hiking because of weight.

The scrapper 5 handled a lot of the fire building chores. Large logs were split with the SOD, but I did a LOT of batoning with the s5le to make tinder and do splits smaller than wrist size. The s5 also handled most of the making of fuzz sticks and shavings. It's obviously not much of a chopper, but I used it with a baton to cut some longer pieces of wood in half lenghtwise to get smaller stuff for the fire.
I really enjoy having a knife the size of the sod for processing larger chunks of wood, but the scrapper 5 is a great belt knife that can definitely handle a beating. You can't beat it's performance for the weight.
I think you will enjoy your s5cg - the INFI Satin Limited Edition is a great knife, but pricey. The combat grade packs a whole lot of performance in for the dollars.

Thanks for the pics. I really like your hammock set up, looks comfortable. I need one of those SOD's now. I should have never passed that one up.
