MK II Blackwater. It does not meet your requirements as there is no metal band. If I were buying a watch, this would be it....when it can be had. Great stuff, I try to steer away from mall ninja brands...as much as I can. I wear a modded Seiko, it has been really great.

Take a look at BATHYS watches. I have one, its been good, an automatic, two years now, very durable; rugged and keeps good time. Keep it simple, don't buy features you don't need or want. But do buy the best you can afford, buy it to use. No matter how good it is suppose to be, you won't know it if you don't use it- good luck. I'd love a Bathys, and you are right, if you are afraid to use it there is no point in having it.

I bought this Seiko in Hamilton, Bermuda in 1981 and wore it constantly until the plastic shroud broke around the bezel and it went into the drawer in 2004. I had it restored and the bezel is now anodized aircraft aluminum. Ever considered a pocket watch?
