Different handle, straight spine vs thumb ramp, round choil vs square, and INFI instead of SR77 -- Other than that, it's so close to a Dog Father that I'm not hearing the Bushwhacker's call yet. It's a great knife, no doubt, but unless the price is right, I'll probably stand on what I've already got.

Perhaps, but when Peter commented on similarities between my SHBM and a (full-height ground) Dog Father, I didn't think much about it until nearly a year later when I dug both out for pictures. Then I noticed that they were a lot closer than I expected: I recall that my SHBM is about 1/4-inch -- with the Bushwhacker being slightly thinner, but saber-ground, I'm not sure they'll feel so different. Once they start shipping we'll know for sure (of course, that may make it too late to place an order).

I think that I have now found my winter camp knife. Most of the others mentioned on this forum were heavier than I cared to tote with me over long miles. I hope that this one is a good compromise.

Pretty cool looking but that's gonna be some serious cake. Honestly, a Dog Father or the upcoming Rat 10 do it for me more. What can I say, I'm a sale rack kinda guy!

If I had either a shbm or zt bm-e, the bushwhacker wouldn't appeal to me nearly as much, but the chance to get a thin mistress at factory prices is too good to pass up. If Dan did a 3/16 inch thick dogfather I would be all over that, but thick seems to be the order of the day for the yard so I'll just have to "settle" for ThINFI.... Darn
