A buddy of mine has a closet full of the 5.11 stuff. Swears by their pants and packs. He's turned into a walking commercial for la police gear.
It is some decent stuff but I believe I'll stick with the SDS.

quality on the maxpedition stuff is pretty good.

I have a jumbo versipak (well, actually, it was a present for my wife, but I
get to use it sometimes.... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> )

i noticed the new colored jumbos had some upgraded features like a grab handle. then the new edc's have a belt strap as well.

when I got my original jumbo, it had the upgraded grab handle and belt. i was stoked.

here's a site that has one made by Fox tactical. I saw one today at a surplus store when I was getting some more paracord for me to braid. I liked it a lot. Bout the same price as the Leapers.
