Mods please feel free to remove this if it is breaking any rules( I don't sell them it is just mine) ! This is my new Survival Tool that I designed and then had a maker bring to life for me.I wish the Yard had bought something similar out but they didn't so I had to go the custom route !!! I wanted something with chopping potential that I could still choke up on as use as a knife for regular cutting tasks, thus made outta 3/16". This was my original drawing: And this is it finished, I don't have it yet, these are the makers pics: What d'ya think ?

Personally I don't think it is something I would use

Interesting! Can't say "beautifull" I'm afraid, but in a survival tool this is'nt the most important part. To try. I'm waiting for the results! Congratulations BTW!!

Personally I don't think it is something I would use i think i might agree. Though neither of our opinions really mean anything, whats important is that you basically got exactly what you wanted, which is absolutely awesome!! thats so cool how you were able to bring your vision to life! Might i ask who you went to to make this possible? The quality seems exceptional. I hope she sees much use now shes finally in your hands. Keep us posted on your experiences with her. Congratulations!

Personally I don't think it is something I would use Yeah of course we all have different requirements ! My reasoning was that if I'm ever stuck out in the cold and wet my priority is to get a shelter and fire done as quickly as possible before I start losing dexterity in my fingers. I'm pretty confident that this will chop through shelter sized branches quicker or at least as quick as my Chopweiler. My need then turns to a fire, where I live the wood on the ground is nearly always rotten and brittle so becomes useless as a batton ( I have tried this many times when I had my Dumpster mutt ), with my Knatchet I can just chop into any fatwood I find to get some decent sized pieces off. I can then choke up on the blade and make some fuzz sticks from small branches, it's 3/16" stock and fine convexed edge should make easy work of these. My Dumpster Mutt sucked at fuzz sticks, my Chopweiler does these very well however. So I guess between my Chopweiler and Knatchet most needs could be met, I just feel that the Knatchet will be slightly more versatile !

I like it. Kudos to you Pitman.
Inside each knife is a new adventure waiting to be had...maybe some blood and probably some suture.

have you seen my magnum cleaver design? it's in the same vein, but yours went more toward the end of the chopping spectrum than the machete end. the extra long handle makes it a 9" chopper, or choke up for a 7" knife. the middle one is the second draft. slightly more handle, and a breaker pommel for symmetry with the tip. passed my testing. i think yours is actually a better elaboration of the concept. nice knife.
