If you like flea markets, you should check out an annual event they have here called the 100 mile yard sale. Why 100 miles? It starts in kennett and goes all the way to Jackson. 100 miles. Believe it or not, the hotels/motels around here get pretty busy during that week (memorial day week/weekend). People sell EVERYTHING including cars, busses, RV,s cycles.....

We have heard about that sale - they have one in Illinois quite similar.

Interesting directions these threads take

On a different subject I had the S5LE with me last night when I went out to check on the dogs - 0F and too cold to leave water out for them. Some of the dogs try to break the ice with their paws and we had a dog get seriously injured doing that, so we try not to leave buckets out for long in cold weather. So I went out to retrieve the buckets before they froze. One of the dogs had dumped its bucket and the water froze under the gate and I couldn't get the gate open. The new blade made a fine ice chipper ! Good all-purpose tools, these knives. They even cut stuff! And the handle did not get too cold either.

Congrats. I did not score an LE, but I get a CG and the S5 is a great knife in the hand.

Good score! Mine's a CG and I love it! So light you tend to forget it's even there(till you need it.)

So light

That's another noticeable difference between the resC knives I have and the micarta handled knives. Not to debate the merits of one over the other, but the resC-handled knives CARRY very well. I actually carry the old Howler (or bandicoot) in the right front pocket of my carharts and it does not weight pants or bibs down too much. The SY S5 is a bit too long for that, but feels very light. That's also a nice thing when carrying a pack around.

Hey Dogrunner, Don't know how big a water bucket(s) you use, but you could get a floating water tank heater, kinda a heating coil in styrafoam that floats on top of the water and keeps it from freezing. My Dad used them for years in hog waterers and they worked pretty good. Just a thought.

Nice idea Randy! I used to use them in my stock tanks for my cattle, and my bigger dogs always appreciated them as well.
