Not a fan of Surefire to be honest - really expensive, and often dimmer than cheaper models from lesser known brands.

not disagreeing with you with the fact theyre expensive. Im not too familiar with the warranties of other companies but the surefire warranty rivals that of bussekin.

i believe that as long as you dont modify the light that they will fix it..provided damage wasnt neglet or abuse

I was looking a the Fenix LD20 just the other day. I love the fact that it has that super low brightness level, and that it's got a solid clicky switch. And the fact that it eats AAs is a huge bonus. What I don't like about it is that its regulation is so aggressive that it gives you no warning when its battery is dying. It maintains full brightness until the cells are empty and then it just switches off. I would prefer a flashlight that gave me some kind of indication that the cells are getting weak. I have a head lamp that turns on a tiny flashing red LED when you're running out of power, and that works well. You still have light but the subtle pinkish blink lets you know you're going to be in the dark soon.

Andy, is that a mini Grip with the yellow handle? Just wondering for a size comparison to the skelly.

I have been carrying on of those for a while now when I don't want to bring along the big SureFire. I am going to pick up a 4sevens quark light and give them a try. I did not know about the 4sevens lights until I saw the name on a forum.

Andy- I see your yellow handled Spyderco in H1. How do you like it? I have one, "Tasman" clipped to my my waders for surf fishing and the steel truly does not rust. It gets wet every time I fish and I often forget to wash it down along with my reel and rod after fishing.

I was wondering about the long term resistance to rusting on that steel.

Been using the knife for 2 1/2-3 years now. When I first got it I left it in a bucket of saltwater for 70-72 hours. Took it out, let it dry in the sun. Didn't wash or clean it for at least 3 months. No Rust. None. Nowhere. I got another fixed blade in H1 from G-Sakai the beginning of this year. I hung this one on my surf belt it always gets wet. It has rarely been cleaned . Same results as the spyderco, no rust.

Nice collection MustardMan! I just picked up a new Novatac myself and I love it. It's an amazing little light.
