The point I'm trying to make is, if most people think they're saving money by going to shows to purchase knives, they're probably fooling themselves.

And my point is - you don't have to go to shows to get show prices. I have had a proxy lined up for every single show I wanted a proxy for, and was able to score quite a few knives due to those folks helping me out, just as others were able to score quite a few knives due to me helping them out. Shows are big business for the Busse clan, and it's well known that there are deals to be had at them. If you don't plan ahead enough to get a chance at show pieces without booking plane tickets, that's on you

I'm planning now for Blade Atlanta. I have friends I can stay with and my girlfriend is buying me the plane ticket. I have to start saving, hoping to have $1000 or so to spend.

I would have to second the statement of "bird in the hand...". Unless you are well established on one of the forums getting a proxy can be frustratingly difficult. The price on the Boss Streets rivals that of some of the releases from five years ago. Do better deals come around? Possibly. The High Streets is such an example but is the exception rather than the norm as Busse made them as a new way to sell off blades cut for a different design. I am pretty sure it was only available at knife shows.

Considering how nicely the Boss Streets fits your stated criteria, and that its being released at a pretty decent price, I would certainly recommend jumping on it. The ss4, which does not fit better with your criteria, is now being sold, often at least, for more than the asking price of the Boss Streets.

I am hoping that I can make it to Blade Atlanta this year, but we all know how plans can go south quick.

I prefer the High Street, which, while not as pretty or collectible as the BOSS Street, is thin enough to make a good slicer, has a useful choil, and cost $167 at Blade.

Now THAT'S value... a knife actually made for practical use, not aesthetics, that costs under two Benjamins.
Hey MM,I just got a high street on BF,paid way to much, but what the heck it was calling me.It feels great in hand when choking up,just natural feeling & comfortable.Pumpkin too.

I would like to see a Scrapyard Knives version of the Tali-Whacker that Busse Combat produced shortly after 9/11.

Stan, I TOTALLY agree with you! The Tali-Whacker was my "Grail-knife" for years, and I finally got the chance to buy one on e-Bay, and at a cost lower than release price! I wanted it from the first time I saw it, but it took me years to get it. Keep the Faith Brother, and Merry Christmas!
