It's almost like your saying paying the minimum on your CC isabad idea or something! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> Glad I got that out of my system in my early 20's...

Think CCs is part of the reason we are in the mess we're in...

Also a reason I have Rats and Dogs and not Busses...can't afford them! Also though, can't really do better/more than a Battle Rat, Camp Tramp, S5, RMD, Vex, Howling Rat and my new love....the bandicoot...bad a**!!

Really nice looking design, just don't need another knife that size myself. Hopefully there will be another varient of it.

Meh, its attractive, but $227 is too much right now, and its geometry doesn't speak to me either. For a short, sharpened prybar I can go elsewhere with better value.

I briefly considered it as my entry into Busse blades, but I will wait until the new year and get something a little more attractive. An active duty, warden or street variant would suit me better. Also still considering an excellent offer a fellow dog made me recently.

I have so many knives in that size category that I'll probably pass (at least for now). As to the release being so near Christmas, I'll just say that Dog Father LEs were also released very near Christmas (I placed my order on 12/5/2007) and a lot of folks who passed because of the time of year later said that they wished they hadn't.

My personal finance advice isn't unique -- whenever possible, DO NOT carry credit card debt from one month to the next, and maintain an emergency fund. 2-1/2 months after getting out of the Navy, I was sooo close to abandoning everything I couldn't pack into the car and running back to my parents because I was still looking for a job and had almost nothing left in my bank or wallet. I was down to about $50 when I received a call that I'd gotten a job starting the next Monday; I resolved to never let that happen again. It's tempting to rationalize not maintaining a cash reserve when you have assets, but that puts you in the position of needing to sell things during an emergency when you'll want to be focused on dealing with whatever the crisis is. I've seen several folks have to sell their collections at a loss when hit with a setback because they had no buffer.

Sometimes, if you want something that'll only be available for a short time bad enough, it's OK to carry a CC balance for a month or two. If you're honest with yourself, regardless of whatever banter may pass on the forum, you know you do or don't really want, and what you can or can't afford (in these uncertain times). Enough preaching -- I'm just saying that, if the only reason you're passing on a BOSS Street is due to Christmas season's bills, you'll probably regret not getting one. However, if the reason is that your overall financial situation doesn't support it, then not buying one is exactly the right decision.

Very well said, couldn't agree more.

I've been out of school for about 18 months now and it hasn't been easy.

I scooped up my first house and it might be a bit more than I can chew! Ha, so is life. I suppose house payments are a necessary evil for me now but I CAN NOT WAIT. Until I am debt free.

It will be so great to just have my utilities, insurance, internet and cell phone bill. We don't have cable now and I doubt we get it anytime soon.

I wish the BOSS blade was a bit deeper.

Not bad, but not my type of blade.

I guess I was just wishing the BOSS would have been under 200. Not that the price is bad at all for a Busse in INFI at that. Just being this close to christmas I guess Im going to have to hold out for the yards next release.

Sadly, the black/black combo Boss Street doesn't excite me at all. Bruce's (double cut?) prototype looks much better.

I have a very nice Leaner Meaner already in that size range already. I think I'm going to sit tight for now.
