Now I don't feel so bad I missed P-Easy's RMD!
Hooray! Me too, almost pulled the trigger. How does the RMD and S5 compare? I just sold a spyderco on BF and said I would trade for a few including the RMD, a guy offered his with RMD with a leather sheath...my jd smith and $200! A RMD at store price is what the doctor ordered!

(Micarta) HRLMs were $10 less than RMDs, at $128.95; I got a G10-handled one in shadow camo at the last Knob Creek for $138.95. Comparing RMDs with HRLMs is a lot like comparing Dumpster Mutts with Yard Keepers; they're both EDC-class knives, but are different in character. My personal preference is slightly in favor of the RMD, although the shorter-bladed HRLM is perhaps more practical to carry.
I found a post on BF where someone remembered RS IIs going for $68. Of course, it's been a long while since Shakers were available, so there might be some inflation.
