The DDF will be heavier, and feel like it hits harder; the DF LE will be faster because it's lighter. The difference in weight isn't huge, but if you're holding one in each hand, you'll notice the difference. Most people prefer the LE, but certainly not everyone, so the choice of one over the other is simply a matter of personal preference.

I have 2 DFCGs ( one tank- one black) and one DFLE. For an all out user I'll take the LE any time. But- i like all the LEs whether it be a DF -SOD or any other. Just my 2 cents

Have not had the chance to handle an LE yet.
Just have to make do with my DDF for now.

DDF. Stronger / heavier / looks cool. 'vex the edge and it's perfect. It's what the RTAK wants to be when it grows up. It's the Smith & Wesson 500 of the knife world. I traded for one in the secondary market and it is my go-to chopper. The DDF along with my tan Reg. are on my pack at all times.

I have both, and i much prefer the LE. I would always choose the LE, unless i was planning on doing lots of really heavy prying. Then the DDF/CG might have an advantage. But both are probably too tough for me to break, and the LE seems to chop a lot more effectively without binding as much. I guess in a perfect world i'd choose an LE with a thicker spine, giving it the strength advantage of the CG but keeping the cutting power of the full flat grind. Oh, wait, i already have one - the FBMLE!
We need a 5/16" (or thicker) SR-77 BOWIE!!! (Written back in early '07 -- Regulator Premonition?)

...both are probably too tough for me to break I doubt you plus a few of your best friends could break either of the Dogfather models. Exhibit A. Really it comes to aesthetics and weight. The standard DF is more axe-like and swings with tremendous authority, and it's coated. The LE version is more balanced and is finished bare steel. Strength simply isn't an issue here.
