I was also super-pumped for the new handle design, sean. Well, actually the new bowie design PERIOD-- that was super sweet. Ironically, I think the TT looked MORE like a fighter with the flat grind and small choil, and this more like a general purpose knife, even though it's been lightened up to be a better fighter?

I guess I just don't get why a fighter needs a more defined choil, and how with a choil, it fits into the lineup of the SS4, S5, S6, SoD, etc.

By the way, I'm not trying to be Mr. Negativity here. The TT Regulator is the knife that got me back into the forums and checking almost every day... even if I'm not a prolific poster. I thought the TT Reg was the single most perfect blade ever from the Yard-- on par with the Dogfather and that's saying a heckuva lot, IMHO-- and thought that there would just be some minor guard or thickness tweaks.

Maybe this is what happens when putting out a Test Team knife. The testers have six months to develop a mental picture of what their idea of the perfect "Regulator" will be. Then when it's released, most of them are at least somewhat disappointed. I know I'm guilty.

Well, since we haven't heard from Dan today then I think it's safe to say we probably won't hear from him till Monday.

I'd better find something else to keep me busy till then.

YES!

We could even jump back an forth between Rat Chat and the Swamp Rat forum on BF. That'll really drive him up the wall.

One might get the idea that the Yard was full of nothing but a bunch of lumberjacks.
I personally love my TT version and I have used the heck out of it and will continue to. So far, the one thing I haven't done with it is to baton a log. I use my 10"+ chopping blade for that when I'm in the bush and the Regulator and a folder for everything else.
As far as the guard goes, I'd love it if it were steel but as is, it keeps my hand from sliding down the blade when stabbing, digging or drilling.
Dan has made an outstanding knife IMO and I for one am proud to own it and would buy the new one in a second once released.

Dan........Price? Specs? [Linked Image from img.photobucket.com]

Of course an RMD would be nice too.
