I can just see the Regulator riding in a Spec-Ops sheath strapped to the leg of some marine or paratrooper. It is a combat knife, pure and uncompromised. While I have absolutely no need of such a knife at my age, I may get one just for the heck of it. The SOD is more of general purpose camp knife. The Regulator is a fighter. +2 I was wondering if 1/3" is going to fit in a spec ops sheath though!? This is one bad a** bowie!

I agree; it is a fighter pure and simple and Jim would be proud of it. While several other Dogs have expressed an interest in having the handle in orange, I would love to see it in Crye's Multicam. Now, stick that in a Spec-Ops sheath and I'm in Heaven.
Inside each knife is a new adventure waiting to be had...maybe some blood and probably some suture.

The Regulator in either form is a straight-up field knife on steroids. No complaints here. It looks to me that the new model will handle any chore it is given. Go Yard!

The Regulator also fits in the Yard 6" Cordura sheath. That's what mine is in. Now don't everyone go order a 6" Yard cordura sheath. I'll need some more for the new style Regulator's I'll be ordering <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Well I just tried my Regulator in my Hell Razor Spec-Ops and it was a way tight fit but that is because the kydex is formed to the Hell Razor. If I could pick up a nice Spec-Ops or a SY 6" I will need another one for the production Regulator.

I bought my Spec ops sheath new. I never formed it. I just rammed the TTR in there. It was a very secure fit. Oh noes! My coating! LOL don't care.

My next order at the yard will include 1 possibly two sheaths and a challenge coin. Two sheaths if that evil Dan breaks my will and offers the Regulator at the price he is hinting at.
