I must say that I am not surprised by the lack of production with SY/ Swamp steel. I think the economy is playing an important role in this . To us it appears they have all these eager cutomers ready to buy like crazy . When running production you have to have LARGE numbers to make it pay and in this economy it probably just isn't there. Sales on custom knives has slowed to a trickle with many buyers backing out at the last minute . Events like Blade West closing there doors are all indications that people purchasing steel is WAY DOWN.I must say that when the S5LE was released I was amazed at how long it stayed in the store. I just don't think the numbers are up to par. With the economy sinking even further- I am just glad that Busse is holding on at all . We all will do our part but it may not be enough. Hang in there guys - just my take on this whole thing-Thanks

Agreed - but in his defense- he might not know. He might be buying steel- or trying to get the best deal he can on a decent batch. Steel isn't cheap and he doesn't want to order too much or too little. So- that being said- very difficult to relaese specs on type of steel and price. I have run my own busines for over 30 yaers and can tell you the economy is nuts out there. Everyone trying to produce on nothing. At any rate- that is kind of scenario I am seeing. Just trying to see both sides of the fence. Thanks

Good point- I can't really say as I don't know all varibles and hate to pass judgement. There is a very loyal following here-so I suppose that some kind of explanation might be needed . On the other hand- I think we need be supportive . Another thought is perhaps he is reading all the TT results and " might" be pondering a design change as in maybe putting steel under that guard . Just a thought ?Thanks
