Where there is a will there is a way. I have some Busse, I have a Rat (want a couple more), and I have my SY steel. To me, the SY steel is like me----maybe not the new super duper thing, but you get a bang for your buck!

I have always had my suspicions about a Jerry Dan sibling rivalry.

I prefer my Scrap Yards also. I like many of the Busse knives but for Price/Performance I come back to SYKCO.

I know I can get a new Bushwhacker but I keep looking for a DFLE for less that I think can perform as well

It will be interesting to see how the new plan works out. I like the idea I guess, I always hate telling people about Busse kin blades.. then giving them a Web address or two... but then having to tell them sometimes that there's nothing available at the moment though... The new plan'll take care of that I guess.

I agree with above poster. This makes a LOT more sense to me. I am not a collector, just like to use good steel hunting, camping etc. I have a few other decent knives and would like to get a good Busse knife of some type(Busse, Swamp Rat, Scrap Yard) because the consensus seems to be that they are the best knife you can buy period, however I am not interested in paying way over retail on the secondary market. If I have to I'll just get something else. I've been patiently watching these forums for the oportunity to buy the new regulator and been checking swamp rats website regularly for any updates on thier upcoming releases. After doing this for give or take a month, I have to say that there has to be an easier way to buy a good knife. I think the new way of doing things sounds great. Be nice to be able to just get a knife when I want it.

I understand. I want a DFLE to go along with the rest of the SY LE that I have came up with. I love the flat grind in real world use, next the corrugated for use, followed by the saber grind.

I understand about the comment for Busse steel. I have the few Busses from trading around and into them. The only Infi that I have that was purchased new was the SY S5LE and of course that is a SY blade/release.

I am sure there will be a few Busse releases that I will want, but getting them are a lot harder to justify in the current economic, political, etc. climate. If the dollar was stronger it would help, but it is what it is.

Well.. Eric is getting 3 Rats in the store soon.. 3 different sizes I believe. Could be a sign of things to come.

So if we're lucky, this will be extended to the entire group

Maybe they'll bring back some older models?

Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, if you don't take it out and use it, it's going to rust.
