. I know, but I wanted to temper my complaining with a little musing on the brotherhood of the yard. This place rocks, and even if I think the regulator guard sucks, that ain't gonna stop me from enjoying the brotherhood, and whatever blade Dan puts out next.

And depending on price I still might end up with a saber ground regulator - it can't be that hard to mod the thing to make the guard what I want.

It looks as if I made a mistake in buying into the hype of this site. I had assumed that it was a collection of like-minded indiviuals; guys that respect and admire fine cutlery. The majority of posts on here are sounding like you're a bunch of hillbilly boys that still live at home. .

we ARE like minded, in tha we appreciate quality blades, bit that doesn't mean w have to agree with each other about every little detail. We have folks of all walks of life here, from hard working salt of the earth to a variety of professionals. What makes this place great is that all of us, regardless of our backgrounds, share the love of these knives and are able to disagree without getting into personal attacks and childish name calling like YOUR post.

And tell you what, let's both go on a couple hundred mile hike, where we might have to cut down some dead wood for fire building or shelter, and see which one of is covers more ground - you with your "freaking chainsaw" or me with my Regulator Bowie (or more likely, the SoD, since I prefer the guard on that one.)

+1 MM we don't need no stinking negativity here. We can disagree but personal attacks are juvenile.

Fellow Dogs --- LIGHTEN UP!!! I'm REALLY getting tired of some of the childish behavior we have been seeing here lately, and tired of the negativity. There is already a couple of folks walking on VERY thin ice, and I am about ready to make them "go under". Much more of this and people will just "disappear" from this forum - no more warnings! Perhaps I have given some folks "too much leash", but that is going to stop NOW!

I hope everyone understands this warning, whether you agree with it or not. Tom

I say forget the thin ice, let the accused drown in their own B.S.. If that ever includes me, so be it. Do what needs to be done to maintain the civil atmosphere in the yard. I thought this was a professional site and not some message board for buttheads to stir s##t on. Just my 2. BTW, the Regulator looks cool to me. Nice call on the feature mods Dan.

When I first read Dan's initial thread post, my immediate thought was the different models of the DogFather. I have the DFCG and am very happy with it as opposed to the DFLE because I want a superior chopper and in my opinion I have it with its saber grind. The Regulator has the classic bowie 'fighter' profile and my TT Reg with the full flat grind will, in my opinion, be the superier fighter compared to the future full release Reg. That's not to say I will ever use my Reg for self defense (although there are hungry black bear in my neck of the woods). I would love to see photos from the military members who have military model Regs when they get issued.

It's just great that Dan gives us so many options in life!

I dont think there are alot of people stiring up trouble. People speaking there minds is ok with me. Just dont talk $hit about the community as a whole. Like several post before me have said. The members of this site come from east to west, rich and poor, republican and liberal(maybe). The only thing that we all agree on, is that we want more scrap yard steel. The guy that was talking smack is a newb like me. He probably typed before he thought, or like me Mr. Van Winkle was bluring the keyboard and he just typed the wrong thing entirely. Either way, this is a great site. LONG LIVE THE YARD

I find it hard to believe some of the posts on this forum lately.
I hope this doesn't put an end to future Test Teams, I feel bad that I wasn't able to give back properly on the Regulator as my laptop hard drive crashed with all my photo's and such.
I really like my TT Regulator and while I am not sure about how the changes effect how the knife will perform.
I do know that historically this forum has operated with respect between posters and that without exception every knife from the yard has been well received.

I can't wait until we all remember what made this forum great
