I had the swamp rat version, the mojo with no hook... liked it a lot but it was too handle heavy for my tastes. The hidden tang of the yard hook / guard should nicely address that problem. I AM a sucker for recurves...

Are these the biggest RES-C handles or are the DF's bigger? They're the same size. There are 2 sizes of "standard" res-c. The larger is on the full size knives, and the smaller is on the EDC size knives. Here's a pic for example:
