Renee - it's nice to see that "laughing face" emoticon in your post. I hope to see your REAL smiling face at Blade!

After deciding to go to Grad School last year and starting in Fall 09, I found that the school's philosophy was not aligned with my philosophy so I dropped three Fridays ago (with no refund of tuition). Since then, I met the Dean of the program from the University of Texas (Arlington) and I have an application to finish up today for what I hope is the right school. I think that things will work out related to school.

On the other hand, I was in an orthopedic boot since December 23 after stepping into a hole and banging up my ankle but as of last week, I'm out of it.

Overall, I think Joe Walsh said it best;

[color:"blue"] "They say I'm crazy but I have a good time
I'm just looking for clues at the scene of the crime
Life's been good to me so far"
[/color]

Inside each knife is a new adventure waiting to be had...maybe some blood and probably some suture.

Made it through the wrestling season, a week of down time. I am heading out at the end of the week to get my brother in Chicago, he has been gone for 10 years, and look forward to some walk-abouts with him. Besides that, not too eventful.

Still living with parents, moving out is long over due.
Trouble is, A. It's terribly comfy here. And B. Jumping ship without something more than a dingy would be a bad idea (would probably lead to drowning, or being eaten by sharks at the worst).
For now there's a lot of biting by tongue and holding my breath. As soon as I get a small business worked out I'll have a different set of things to stress over.
But, those are stresses I'm looking forward too.

I am doing GREAT. The hardest thing is staying in shape for my outdoor activities. I am now exercising for almost 3 hours per day and my stamina is building. I have the most beautiful wife- children - grandcildren and friends a man could want. I have my hobbies ( addictions) and LOVE playing with knives. I can feel spring in the air and am enjoying each and every day. Plus- I get to visit with you young guys here on the yard !! Pretty [censored] awesome- Life Is Great -Thanks

Well I just met with a guy today about a job that may allow me to give a bit more direction to my career. Hopfully I will be making a nice chunk of money and soon be able to afford a house and some property to hang out on. Oh and plenty more ScrapYard knives... This year has actually had quite a few ups and downs for me so far though. Financially things are down a good bit but it is giving me a reason to move on from what is definitely a dead job. The return of a very negative person is also encouraging me to distance myself from people and places that will not help me become a stronger, wiser, and happier person. So overall things are down but things are still good. I'm looking forward to some new steel if I can afford it and I hope to get in better shape over the spring so I can enjoy it.

Hoping I can make it blade but if I had to say so right now then probably not.

I just can see not getting at least one Regulator. Who needs to eat?

Thanks guys! I didnt mean to sound like I was down about anything at all. I'm actually pretty good. The past few months gave me a chance to take inventory and see that i'm in decent enough shape despite the way things have been. Its been enough for me to think about moving on and I finally have the motivation to do so. It's like I got a much needed kick in the seat or something.

I just felt like I should ask how the Yard family is doing. Good, bad, knife or no knife this forum has been a really good community for those who participate and probably some who don't. I doubt I would have given the same answer to this question in a room full of strangers.

So why is the Yard different?

(1) Superior performance to price ratio = Chuck Norris as a sidekick!!!

(2) If you need a #2 you need a Scrap Yard knife and you already know it!

(3) You will chop!!!

(4) The Yard is different! Read the posts!!! You will chop!

(5) We will have the answer to this one in 2 weeks!!!

So seriously, how are you doing?!?!?!!!???
