I'm bummed. I was dinged on the 15th but didn't get my Reg today. But I did get in my SRKW knives so it took a little of the sting out of it.

It's better to have it & not need it, than to need it & not have it.

The new Reg is a bit blade heavy making it a better chopper for sure. With that being said-the original TT is a much better fighter and better balanced. The sheath fits both versions with no problem and if you work the snaps a bit they do break in. For camp chores the new one has a slight edge- but as a pure fighter or a defense knife to carry in the rig I will keep my original .If a guy was wanting to buy just one- I really can't say as i am not in that postion. I would say with the very limited runs of the original that prices are going to go up for guys seeking a fighter/ defense type of blade . On the other hand- at 100 bucks with sheath I would suggest that if you haven't ordered one best get on it while these are still in the store . These two knives in SR101 are going to be classics for sure . I will give a few more opinions after I have bashed on the new one like I did one of my old version . Keep in mind- these are merely MY opinions and i don't know a hell of a bunch -Thanks

I've always wondered what a pure fighter is? and if someone was attacking me wouldn't I want to chop him? If I had my choice I would walk around with a Dog Father

But really what is a pure fighter? In Los Angeles for a number of years the number one weapon used to attack people were box cutters!! I'ld use ANYTHING to deal with a maniac like that

Also this is out of curiosity (I am a newbie) not criticism

You can rest assured that all THREE Regs will chop . I was merely stating my OPINION mostly as to BALANCE and how " fast in hand" the original Reg was as compared to the new ones. This being a Mil overun-I can imagine that the military is indeed using these in combat situations . Here is a description of a Bowie Fighter and I must say that the Reg ceratinly meets this description IMO http://www.historicarkansas.org/knife_gallery/ .Yes- if someone was coming at me with a box cutter -I would not really like to use ANY knife- but if I had to- the Reg is one heck of a defense knife. Of course so is the handgun that I carry in my rig here in Oregon . That may not be the case in LA ? Not sure of the laws. Keep in mind- this is merely MY OPINION of the Regs. One heck of a knife I must say at a great price whichever model you prefer. I like both versions so I have several of each. Thanks

I was under the impression that if you got the discount for the Reg. you had a agreement not to sell for a certain amount of time and the Regulators would be numbered if you got the discount....However I do not work for Scrap Yard but I had asked Renee about this when they were released because I was thinking about getting one for my brother in law who is in the military.

But remember I do not work for Scrap Yard so I might be wrong.
