Albin - welcome to the Yard! Lets see those pic's!

All - I would happily buy several copies of ANY variation of the DM that Dan released. I think its an awesome blade <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowdown.gif" alt="" />.

In fact, it would surprise me if most of the newbs here (myself included) wouldn't love to have that one offered again.

I'm with you Architect! I don't suppose this would be a bad time to get back on my soap-box regarding an S5 / DM variant...give the S5 the girth of the DM, and keep the mudders. Life would be good <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowdown.gif" alt="" />

Your right Arch! I would LOVE to see it offered again. I personally love the black on black w/ Busse basic handle and penetrator tip. (as seen on the SYKCo store) Sweet chunk'o'steel!!!

Thanks guys, here's the only pic I got, this is from the Bladeforums.com site, and was posted by one of the Busse guys in thread over there (ETA: ignore the black knives, the DM i bought is one of the tan colored knives):

I believe the knife I bought is the one on the right.

Thanks,

Al

How can you tell which one you've got? I bought my DM at Knob Creek this past Saturday at the Busse table. The receipt just says "Dumpster Mutt". It's a plain edge in desert tan. I got it for $69 . . .
Al

Except for the color and based on the price, it sounds as if you may have gotten one of the original DMs . (All the original DMs were Black/Black.) Quick way to find out is to check the grind. If it's sabre ground, it's based on the original DM. If it's flat ground, it's a variant. Post a pic and we'll be able to tell you.

And welcome to The Yard. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
It's one like they've had since the Fall 2008 Knob Creek, "new" Res-C handles as opposed to the original recycled Basic handles. At the Fall 2008 show they were priced at $89.95, but then (I think at Blade), they were sold as a $69.95 show special, and that's been the price at all the shows I've seen them at since. I bought the Tanker gray in this picture at KC:

I also scored the middle Vex at KC (it was the only Vex they had); I already had the top green linen Vex from the July 2009 Lardoganza.

If those DM's were offered online for $69...I know what my family would be getting for Christmas! How does Dan do it?

Man I love this place! LONG LIVE THE YARD!
