It took me about 2 months of spare time to strip and convex a SS4, RMD and S5LE to my low expectations by hand on a few different grits of sandpaper on wet granite. Very satisfied with the results, but I'll probably use a belt sander for anything I try in the future. It is really cheap and satisfying entertainment to do it by hand though. The SR-101 seemed to take a lot more time and effort to get anywhere vs. INFI or SR-77.
