My three Swamp Rat RMD's arrived today, and I felt guilty that I only have two Regulators....so.....

I just ordered a THIRD Regulator, but the first two came withOUT a sheath so I guess this is "different" since I ordered this Reg with a sheath.

Way to go! The sheath is nice.

Did you get an Wardens? What combos of RMDs?

I'm jealous. i should really order a 2nd reg...waiting for my first to come to check it out though.

Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, if you don't take it out and use it, it's going to rust.

That is the great thing about this offering you can have one in your hand and order more! If people don't get in on the Regulator they will regret it. If you don't get in on more than one you will regret it.

Dan has the winningest winner in this one. Lets hope he brings more options out (but there is no counting on that)

Sethrotull,

I wish I would have ordered the sheaths with my first two Regs. I asked if the Reg's would fit in my SpecOps sheaths, and someone on here said they would so I skipped the option (Dan hadn't posted pics yet either). However, the Regulators are EXTREMELY tight in the Combat Master sheaths I have.

My RMD's consist of two Sage with Tan Canvas and one Tanker Grey with Black Paper. Oddly, the blade is visibly thicker on the black paper. My wife could instantly tell that it weighed more too. I like the look of the Sage/Tan, but the "heft" of the TG/B.

I passed on the Wardens, but now I'm regretting that decision!

Vendetta13,

I'm fairly new to Bussekin, but cannot emphasis enough - YOU WILL REGRET NOT GETTING ANOTHER REG! I honestly wasn't that excited about them, because I'm not a fan of the bowie blade profile. However, after feeling how comfortable the handle is and how "powerful" the knife feels in the hand...its rapidly becoming my favorite "big knife".

You MIGHT be able to gently heat the kydex inside the specops sheath, and while it's still sorta warm shove the reg into it. That HOPEFULLY would make it fit. Be advised though, that if you apply TO much heat you could deform the kydex. Then again, you MIGHT be able to order a replacement liner from them.

Oh, guess I should say that you will probably need to remove the kydex from the sheath first if you can.

Skunk Hunter,

After my Regs arrived, I pulled the kydex liner out to see what I could do. I added some Tetra (gun grease) to it, and after the finish "smoothed out" on the thickest blade area (spine) it fits, but I don't need the thumb snaps to keep it in there!

My second, and just ordered third Regulator won't ever see SpecOps sheath time...as they will eventually be gifts for our children (we are going to begin the adoption process for - hopefully - a brother and sister in about a year).

I just posted this in another thread, but it applies to this one too:

... I'm glad that I went with the Deregulator version -- I don't think my thumb would like that upper ramp unless I held the knife like a hammer. Also, while it's a matter of personal preference, I like the S6 through Dog Father's handles better, although I imagine folks with larger hands may prefer this one. Even so, I don't dislike the grips -- they just don't feel quite as natural as the others (to me). Finally, as thick as the blade is, I expected it to feel like a monster; it's not nearly as blade-heavy as I expected, and is actually quite nimble (probably due to how much the Bowie-style blade width narrows toward the tip). Overall, this release was a heck of a knife and an outstanding deal; Great job!!
I'm sure that it was a military specification, but I didn't care for the "jump ready" double-snap-loops. First thing I did was carefully cut the bottom loop from one of my sheaths. Still, as Dan noted:

This is a lot of sheath for the money at $24.95 it is insane at 10 bucks <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
I suspect that anyone who misses out on this release WILL regret it, and as thick as these knives are, you'll want one of the sheaths that are made for it; at +$10, it's too good an to option to skip, even if only to have a spare. Paul, I can't guarantee it, but suspect you may change your mind about your Regs/Deregs once you get a chance to hold one (or are you referring to having two sheaths you won't want)?

My Regulator fits in a SpecOps sheath with modification. I took the liner out and left it on my dashboard (knife in) on a hot day this summer. After it got warmed up I took the knife out and used a large (5gal bucket) paint stirstick to stretch it out a tad more. works great.
