Ok...so you guys got me all jazzed about these hats, as I've been looking for a new "beater" for the woods...fishing, hunting, etc. Well, I knew I had a big noggin'...but heck, I'm an XL. They don't even have them in stock, and are waiting on a shipment from Brazil Stoopid big head of mine, always gets in the way
Did you end up going with the XL? How was the fit?

I was about to ask him the same thing.

I ended up putting some filson wax on mine. It changed the color slightly. It's a little darker. But, now I think it's more water resistant.

Yep...my head measured close to 23 3/4" or so with a piece of string. So, I ordered the XL size and everything worked out great. The elastic band inside actually makes it a good snug fit.

It's strange reading back....i know I posted they didn't have any bigguns. Then I went back like two days later and they had it posted for sale, with a delivery expected 05/10/10....so I ordered it. Got it today....seems things work out sometimes

The chief cause of unhappiness and failure is trading what you want most in life for what you want at the moment.

I just treated mine with a good water proofing and man does this thing shed water now.
Mind if I ask what you used?

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, but I just got back from vacation. I used ReviveX Water Repellent.

Thanks for the tip sportsnut. On my next RDB hat, I'll use the Revivex.

Works awesome. You have to throw it in the dryer to activate.

Did your hat shrink at all?
