Wow Ted, Those are great pics as always. Does your sister return these to the wild or are they injured animals that need a good home? They are beautiful animals!

No, the cougar is from a breeding mill and the bobcat is from a fur farm. They are declawed and BillyBob had his canines removed as well. They would not survive at all in the wild.

Amazing ted! I love the wildlife pictures!

I have been fortunate to see a number of Lynx in the wild up here over the last year. Beautiful creatures!

Cool cat pics Ted! The mountain lion was one of my favorite animals when I was a kid. I had a whole section of my wall with dozens of pics of them I’d saved from magazines. Growing up I told my Mom I wanted one for a pet someday, and it scared her to death because she said she was afraid it’d eat her grandchildren. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> Later I thought about maybe getting a Bobcat because it would be smaller and not as dangerous. Is BillyBob friendly? I wondered how their demeanor would be.

We have a Maine Coon named Jingles. They get pretty big, 20+ lbs or so. He’s ok most of the time, but he can be mean when he wants to. He was pretty grown when we got him though. He might have done better if we got him when he was smaller. We had another Maine Coon years ago that we adopted when someone dumped her out here, and she was sweet as could be.

If Bobcats can be tamed to where they’re not mean or dangerous, I still might like to get one someday.

Stunning pics. I have only heard bobcats in the wild up in the local mountains at night. I have never caught a glimpse of one though. I am sure they ahve seen me.

Not really. He will tolerate me for a short period of time but then he will definitely let me know when he is done visiting with me. I am the only one that goes in with him as he has been aggressive to the other volunteers. Bobcats get pretty cranky after about 2 years of age- adulthood.

ALL wild animals can revert at anytime to NORMAL animal behaviour. Ask Roy(of Siegfried and Roy) about that

Don't even think about it. They WILL destroy homes. They urinate in their water(in nature this carries their scent away) so you have to have a special water bowl that they can't back into and one for them to use as they will.
