Sumo - I have a big boxed of desiccant in my gun safe. The humidity is so high here I have to bake the crystals every 30-45 days to reactivate them Wow, that is some serious humidity.

Good deals so far. I keep mine oiled up, in sheath, and in a few book bags and box. You can always get some desiccate bags to throw in the boxes, bags, etc. yup... that's what I did. I think I had some from a show box or something that I went on and tossed in the case for good measure.

Sumo - that's only in summer. We live in the "Ohio River Valley" which seemingly traps moisture; allergens; etc.
Whenever people visit this area they always comment that they suffer from sinus or allergy problems, but never experience the problems elsewhere. We get frequent "ozone alerts" too (not suppose to fill our fuel tanks; mow lawns and so forth).
A friend from Northern IL calls Southern Indiana "the armpit of America" because he always leaves with a running nose and watering eyes

But Ren wax is good at keeping moisture off the metal.

I'm lucky enough to have a 'man room'. When I get some time off of work, I plan on hanging a few magnetic knife blocks on the wall to display my growing collection. Any thoughts on this?
Better get some more magnets...

I store my knives (out of sheath or cardboard) in a multi-drawer tool chest. The drawers are lined and I keep a silica block in each drawer to keep humidity low along with an annual wipe down with a Marine Tuff Cloth to keep them mint.

I try to store them in my gun safe. But some are just way too big. I want to get a knife stand but can't find the right size. I'm having a headache...

This is an old thread but good info on the ren wax. I have my main collection in a Stanley watertight jumbo tool box. The rubber gasket provides a real tight seal and they are only 30 bucks at the big box man store, menards. It has a lot of room inside ![[Linked Image from i1110.photobucket.com]](http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h459/sar511/CIMG6031.jpg) this is an old picture but you can see by the size of the junglas it can handle any Bussekin this side of my scrapizashi ![[Linked Image from i1110.photobucket.com]](http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h459/sar511/CIMG6028.jpg) Due to the high humidity and flooding I am looking into getting one of these. The price hurts but if it can save my collection of infi for the price of one knife i think i should invest in one. http://images1.opticsplanet.com/750-500-ffffff/opplanet-pelican-1640-protector- I keep the knives out of their sheaths in knife zippered cases with the blade oiled and wrapped in plain white wrapping paper and a moisture absorbent pack in each one. Take care.

interesting thread. Home knives are in a safe. Car knives are in a digital keypad locked box, in the trunk. Kitchen knives are in a wood block. Couple of users in my pocket.
