Skunk I've been practicing cleaning, loading, racking, and shooting my shotgun in anticipation for those years.

I also have a very calm demeanor. Nothing more frightening than a nice Dad with a Shotgun, never know what he'll do.
Picking your teeth at the dinner table with a SYK can be rather intimidating as well.

Was at the beach this summer with my wife's family and her brother had brought a friend. I was sharpening my Reg at the kitchen table and the friend asked me "why you doing that" I looked him right in the eyes and said very calmly "No one told you why you got to come along"

I think he dropped a load, and I was on the floor rolling with laughter. Don't think my wife was to happy with me.

Sometimes it's really hard to resist. Especially when they set it up sooo well. I rarely resist dropping those kinds of 'seriously I'm not serious but I could be' jokes.

When I was about 19 my cousin started going out with 1 of my middle brothers friends.
I knew this kid since he was in kindergarten and he was I think 16 maybe 15, my cousin was spending the weekend so that they could go out.
When he arrived I had my LC Smith double barrel draped over my arm and told him we needed to step outside to talk.

He almost died on the spot and my cousin could have killed me

I'm such a laid back person and easy going I think people are waiting for me to snap. I don't do a lot to discourage that view either.

I suppose all the guns and knives may scare a few.

When I went on my first date with my sons mother I remember being terrified of her dad. He wasn't big or mean looking or anything but he was quiet and I knew he was a hunter. He turned out to be a great guy and we STILL talk.
My current gf's dad is similar except he IS big, looks REALLY mean and liked to 'express' himself. On our first date he answered the door with a pump shotgun. I still don't know what kind it was. She was home early.

My oldest daughter and her boyfriend were friends for a couple of years before they started going out.
When they first started going out I told him in all honesty

You may think I am a nice guy and that we are friends, but I am giving you fair notice if you ever hurt my daughter all bets are off.
My daughters mean everything to me and You will mean nothing to me if you hurt them.
Believe me you don't want to be a problem that means nothing to me

Anyone seen A Christmas Story where Ralphie goes crazy on the Bully? You catch a scumbag and he is suddenly responsible for everything bad the ever happened.

Or Falling Down with Michael Douglas?
