Thanks lazi, that's what we PLAN on trying to do. But after just getting the news on Monday it will need a little time to fade some.
Kan: We have one granddaughter that lives only 10 miles away. The mother and My stepson never married and now she is married to someone else. We never get to see her. It has been almost a year. Now My stepson lives in arkansas (workes for U P railroad) and they are about 350 miles away. Hopefully we will be able to visit them a few times a year at least. Well, at least you get to see them sometimes. That's rough.

even if it's a few times a year it's a good deal all the way around. i might see some family only once a year but i grew up knowing that i was good for a meal and a rest spot if i was ever in need.

I don't mind all that much, as I said I'm an only child. But I Do know how I feel when I meet someone I really like after a long absence. Sort of like here. When someone has been a regular for a while and then just drops out of sight and then comes back, it's like a breath of fresh air. Like Yote. He's been gone for a while and now he's back posting again. Really like talking to him. Don't know how old he is but he speaks with a lot of wisdom as do you and many others, who are to numerous for me to list.

Yup, I agree lazi. See K, lazi is another one. His post was short but full of feeling and it has the unstated love a family shows even if it IS only done upon occasion.

SH, I did not mean to offend anyone. I think it's great that you get to see you family on occasion. I just chose to live close to family and find it hard to imagine life without them. I understand kids grow up and move away. I just hope and pray that they choose careers and spouses that allow them to live close.
Once again, I'm sorry if my post was in anyway offensive, insensitive or callous.

K, I didn't read anything that could be taken to be offensive in any way. If you are talking about me not posting for a few minutes, I had to do a news release, something I have to do every night. Sometimes it's longer than at others. SO, if I am ever on here and don't post for a bit, don't think anything of it. I just have 3 radios, 7 phone lines and a walkup window to deal with. AND we are a single dispatch position.

i have a little bit of work i'm trying to knock off. should've been easy one day stuff that has dragged over 2 weeks now. glad to have it over with tomorrow but i suspect there is gonna be at least one more glitch.
