The steel on my khukuri is very stubborn. I have an ok edge but I want to strop to a polished edge. Bigger bite means less work. Call me lazy!!

Striving for Efficiency is not laziness.

I am trying to stick to a new rule. The new purchase should not impact the bank account. If you buy - then something else has to go.

Yeah, me too.

Eventually, I may have to start a thread called, "Help me choose which ONE to keep."

I don't like that rule, Tag! But I don't have much either. Every purchase for me is going to impact the account! I will follow that credo when I have a "collection".

El tesoro Anejo is my favorite every other day drinker...49 bucks!

But Don Julio 1942 is great...Funny I call that Liquid gold like Jrod says about the PAPPY 15.

My favorite is Asom Broso anejo but at 200 a bottle.....I have had it once. The problem is I cant just let it sit there and admire it from a far...I gotta drink it! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/loopy.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/loopy.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

That would cause more problems than it would solve. Everyone will have a different opinion.

Seth, the guy at the liquor store finally sold me the bottle of Pappy 15 he had been holding for the other guy, his rep told him it was the last bottle in all of South florida
You should post a pic if you could, please and thank you. I'd like to see the color and label.

$200 for a bottle of alcohol is a little crazy. I look at it this way - will you get twice the enjoyment versus a $100 bottle? If yes, then spend the extra.

Cool Tag. I think I'd like to do the same. Not sure if I should just try it myself or not (on a cheapy). I have a D2 blade that I convexed on sand paper. I need a strop now. Took a long time but it's a hair popper now. That was a $50 blade and only 4" so it was kinda easy for a first try.

I started practicing on an Ontario that I picked up for $11 off eBay. I would not trust my skills on a better knife.

I fall into the camp of 'the sharpening challenged'.

I did the same with Harbor Frieght machetes and rambo knives....I was able to get both razor sharp!!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif" alt="" />. My friend was amazed when we went to chop trees that those would do that. Unfortunatly they dont hold the edge for long! but hey what do you expect from HF??? After I was able to do that consistently I started on my SY's. I am about convex my DDF!

I'm the same way Ireash. I don't like my bottles sitting in around.
