I have to admit I'm a huge fan of the Aimpoints. I have one of the CompM4's, and it simply shines in any type of transition shooting.

ECF...do you use any magnifier's on the EOtech? I'm considering getting one for hunting with the Aimpoint, just in case something pops out at the 150 range or so.

The chief cause of unhappiness and failure is trading what you want most in life for what you want at the moment.

Good Choice, I have a 6P with retention ring, and since I use it with my support hand, it moves with me from my 1911 to my AK if need be.

Reason I asked, if you were to stick with the 552, and forgot to turn it on/change the battery regularly, and got into a confrontation, you could actually use the corona and hot spot of the Surefire as a crude sighting device, if it's weapon mounted.

Yep - 6P LED. I need to get it weapon mounted though. I only have the one so didn't want to lock it to one firearm.

I have never used one myself, but I would venture that it would be beneficial, and I've talked to a few 4ID guys who have. Never heard anything bad about it. Leave it on when you're outdoors, and you're pretty much ready for anything, then if you have to clear a house, twist it off and go. My personal Preference is the Marine Corps style ACOG though, with the fiber optic and tritium. The Bindon Aiming concept is something I was able to wrap my head around, and the dedicated magnified weaponsight with BDC just does everything for me.

What boomstick do you have set up and ready to rock and roll right now? Safariland has a really nifty setup for standard handgaurd ARs, and there's lots of makers of mounts for picatinny rails. If you look hard enough, you might be able to find something with QD ability as well, which would be good for transitioning to another weapon.

I have the troy quad rails (M&P 15T) so will dig around to see what I can find with QD ability.

I don't really have an office. I spend a few hours on admin stuff and then hit the streets. Well i guess my cruiser is my office. Views are great while the suns still up <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
