Hey Sumo. It's warm, muggy, and drizzly here. Gulf coast weather.

I hated rotating shifts. I am glad we get to bid for shifts once a year. Wouldn't want to do the roatation again. To hard on my body.

I hate them too. I work four days, get four days off, then four nights, then four days off. Twelve hour shifts. I also get overtime opportunities on my off days. I feel like the years are just falling off my body right in front of me.

I work 10 hour shifts. Like it alot. Worked 12's years ago. 4 12's is a rough one. Rougher when your flipping shifts.

Sometimes I take another six on top of my twelve for overtime, then go home and try to sleep for three and a half hours and be back at work for another twelve. I'm working my youth away. My job and my 9 m/o son are causing me to get my first grey hairs, I'm only 32!

Thats a rough one. I did the 12 hour shift gig for 3 years. Been working 10s for 15. I usually get alot of Non paid OT just because of the job. But its not horrible. I like having three days off.

I shouldn't complain, my last job was working for the railroad and I HATED that job. Working in a refinery is so much better than working for the railroad. And the hours were worse there. I was on call 24/7/365. No holidays or off days. Never knew when I was going to work. They would just call anytime day or night and I had 3 hours to get there. It was no way to live.

Thats a rough one. I love my job. I don't know what I would do if I wasn't doing this. Its not always fun but I consider myself fortunate.

When I worked for the railroad I had a bumpersticker that said "I used to have a life, but my job ate it". My supervisors would always ask me to take it off.

I do like my job, flipping shifts is the only downside. Everything else is gravy.
