never chopped on my old powerbooks because one started working again. in fact the only one i have left and the one i'm using right now.

I actually came very close to doing the NMSFNO-through-the-MacBook-Pro shot. Fortunately, I didn't.

both my 15' and 17' powerbook have too many problems so they may just meet some busse steel before too long. at least my knives have a lifetime warranty.

What problems are you having with the 15" and the 17".

Is your 15" powerbook a TiBook?

pretty sure it's not ti... but the 15" stopped charging (some brown stuff around rhe jack) and would only run from battery for a while. used my dead PB to charge batts but maybe 5 months later the logic board went out.

the 17" caught a few spills a few times. my selective memory will not allow me to remember how or how many times. i do remember a hair dryer and maybe some melting of all the middle keys at some point. maybe even another spill after that. details, details... it's dead!

OK, well, It may not be "too dead" to sell for parts.

but i did pull the hard drives and the airport cards. i may go ahead and get the optical drives out. the screens have blotches and anything else is too suspect for me to sell. they both have had spills but for some reason the 17" was just a spill magnet.

And that reason is: Because you chose to drink over or very near your laptop.

I've never spilled on my laptop computer because I simply never drink within dangerous proximity to the computer.
