That Basic 3 w/ full-height grind looks like it would cut like a little banshee!

How do the Basic handles compare with that HR handle?

From the pics they look similar lenghwise.. but HR handle looks chunkier/beefier.

I think the old HR handles and the DM handles feel very similar with the exception of the nubbies on the sides. The nubbies provide a little extra grip and provide a good index of where the knife is in your hand. Sizewise both grips seem almost identical.

The basic3 is sweet chunk of 1/4" M-Infi. It cuts well but the somewhat thick asymmetrical edge is not the best slicer so I'm gonna thin it out soon. The handles on Basic and HR are pretty much the same except the howler's handle is just a tad thicker and has a different texture. I like em both.
