i would be more worried about people going, "look a murse!"

True! Not my point, but a good one none-the-less.

Stick with me for a bit, I'm getting there...

Ok...

So I've been reading a lot about these Craghopper clothes that have Bear Grylls' name all over them. To wear something with "Bear Grylls" on it could get you ridiculed. But the thing is, I don't go backpacking with the guys from the AR15 forum (I just picked that forum at random, I'm not even a member).

Why would I care what others think if it's a great piece of gear?

Anyway, that's my thought for the moment.

How is everyone else?

I love my Colossus! It's a great carry on bag as well to hold a book and my iPod and what not for air travel.

(Gun left at home of course! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />)

The Basecamp and Venturer pants look great! I wouldn't (and don't) care what some one else thinks. Great gear is great gear and opinions will vary on what one thinks is great.

Exactly.

The other thing about these pants, is that you can watch Bear beat the crap out of them on his show.

Whatever you think of him, he sure is hard on his gear!

Not a bad review of the quality of said trousers! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

I agree Joe. Not a bad looking price either. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

I'm a fan of the Colossus murse too, holds most EDC items pretty nicely, and lots of space for strapping on extra pockets. Got the Janus shoulder strap pocket on mine, perfect for sunglasses and keys (will actually hold a Sony PSP comfortably, should you want to carry one of those around.)

Craghoppers has a lifetime warranty. So yeah, for that price, not bad.

I'm not looking at them for everyday wear, but for extended backpacking trips where you'd need them to really hold up.

We're hiking through the Uintas for a week. Scrambling up King's Peak on rocks above the tree line.

The second half of our trip will be following GPS way points through brush.

No trails for three days, roughly 30 miles.

I need some hard-core dries-quickly pants.

I got the Janus as well, but took it off after a couple of days. Didn't like it as much. I use it now to hold my Trangia stove!

Can't get rid of Maxped gear. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

My wife made this salad with spiral pasta, poppy seed dressing, grapes and grilled chicken.

It is awesome.

But I ate too much! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />
