Vast powers?!? Really curious what you consider vast powers there Tom. Mine are limited to creating life by throwing a switch (unless the bulb is burnt out, circuit breaker off, power out, or using the wrong switch) <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

Looks like Ruger will be releasing the LCR in a .357 mag version in June. I am not sure what to think about a lt wt .357 mag as I did shoot a S&W Titanium 357 a few times and it literally hurt. But, the price on the MSRP is about 575.00 so it might be worth a look. Another thing I am not sure about is if you gain much from shooting a .357 mag out of a short brl'd revolver over .38 spcl--the .357 mag was designed around a 5-6" brl. Any thoughts?

.357 Mag
Pros:
-More versatile (shoots both .357 and 38 spcl)
-More powerful (when shooting .357 mag)
-More robust (has to handle higher pressures)
Cons:
-In identical models, sometimes a bit heavier.
-Harder to control (if using .357 Mag)
-More expensive (in general)
-Not a great return on investment performance wise over the .38 special.
.38 Special
Pros:
-can be lighter
-less recoil = more control, less flinch factor
-less expensive.
-adequate personal defense round with proper bullet selection.
Cons:
-Cannot shoot .357 mag
