WOW! That would get me to work at the Sheriff's Office all right, UNTIL I couldn't afford the tickets any more!

Hehe, that would be fun to drive. Imagine pulling up to a stoplight and some kid in a souped up mustang in racking the pipes showing off and when the light turns green, you DROP THE HAMMER as you wave bye-bye! As the commercial says, PRICELESS! Specially if you're an old fart like I am.

Oh and actually, we have been talking about a 4x4 SUV lately. We like Mingo so much that a 4x4 is SO much nicer. Higher so visibility is better over the weeds that grow up alongside the road and on the back side (12 miles of nothing but gravel, some quite steep) it sure does help and setting more upright sure is good feeling on the old bones. That's why we like the '90 Cherokee Dad gave us so much.

Yeah, I appreciate my truck up here (F150). Need both the cargo space and the traction some days. Plus you can't beat the extra steel if you do hit a critter.

yup, sleepers are FUN! When In my growing up years (driving say 70-74) our town (MAYBE had almost 1000 people in it) had the following vehicles.
'57 Ranchero that would out run MOST other cars around.
a '57 chev that would pop the front wheels upon demand.
a '68 Duster that was a sleeper a '68 superbee that was well, a superbee!
a '68 or maybe '69 Goat that was almost as fast as the Ranchero
There was a couple others as well that would do pretty well on a good day. Man did we have fun on sunday afternoons!

Yeah it was. AND there was this one road that had KILLER traction. We would start off at the entryway to the grade school and almost exactly 1/4 mile away to the foot, was a pair of tall and narrow yellow and black hatched signs. We would have someone set up down line to watch for cars, and someone behind the starting line and when it was clear 2 cars would pull out of the drive onto the road and a starter would line them up an then it was 1...2...3...GO!

Yup! AND the town cop used to watch us (from a distance of course). He said as long as we "played it safe" he wouldn't bother us but if we started acting stupid (happened a couple times). Other than that we knew when we had a good thing going and didn't want to mess it up. He said he would rather us have some place to go what we were gonna do anyway where it was "safest". We did this for about 3 years then folks started getting out of High School and leaving and it just sort of disolved away.

Oh, the starting point was just about 100 feet inside the city and the finish line was of course outside. AND, there was a farm road about another 1000 feet beyond the finish line where we could pull into and turn around to go back for another run!
