My pond was about 30-40 ft across, and about 200 ft long, with banks on both sides. I used to fish in it with the old fly rod, and catch all kinds of sunfish and bass on poppers. As long as you've got a little open room behind you, you don't have to cast far to catch sunfish.

In this pic you can see an older pickup on the left side of the pic. I would love to go and look at this place but I am a little creeped by the story that goes with it. The guy who started working on it was an engineer that had a breakdown. He ended up living in a little pull trailer not too far from this place that was on an older homestead, probably tun of the century based on the looks of the cellar. Anyway, the guy went total bat crazy. I don't know who the current land owner is but I think it might be time to do some research and find out for sure--get permission and go for an up close. ![[Linked Image from i220.photobucket.com]](http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd98/sumoj275/american%20horse%20lake%206-3-10/DSC00826.jpg)

I would definately be doing that. This is the kind of thing that I love to go check out. We have a mental hospital here and when I used to work there I would explore the abandoned buildings on my days off. Loved it!

Talk about the senses being at a heightened state. Thing is I have never been hurt by an unknown iniety, but I have been hurt by my tripping over stuff <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/banghead.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/doh.gif" alt="" />

I'll try to get some photos up next week, but it's awesome. There are tunnels under the hospital that are hair-raising kind of creepy.

By the looks of the old 30's truck, the turn of the century cellar, the size of the trees, and the foundation what can be seen from the fence line of an old burn out house I would put this as pretty old LOL. From the story I was told the guy started it iin the 50's and put in a mental home in the ealry 60's. I can not figure out for the life of me all the different pipes running through the place. The first time I saw this I figured an old barn or cotton gin type thing. I started asking around about it and no one really wanted to say much. Anyway, I have become pretty good friends with a guy that lives in the town south of this place and he farms east of it a little ways. I think I will talk to hime next time I am out that way and see if there is more to the story or of he know hwho owns the land.
